Au Revoir!

So . . . the day has finally arrived! We leave for the airport tonight and then . . . off to France!!!! First stop - the French and Italian Alps. Next, Provence and the Mediterranean. Could it get any better? All this Frenchiness will be in company with our delightful French exchange student from last August - we couldn't have found a nicer friend! I made the above cards for her and her mum - an assortment of photos I took of the Eiffel Tower in 2007 and some photos I took of the poenys in my flower bed. I had a great time antiquing and generally messing with the photos and then turned them into blank notecards. I know, taking notecards of the Eiffel Tower to France is, as they say, 'taking coals to Newcastle.' But, whatever. The Eiffel Tower is just about my favorite place on earth.
So, I'm off. Back in two weeks with lots of photos to share.

Crochet Cushions!

Remember the cushion covers I started back in April? Well, I finally have two finished. Here they are, in place and they look lovely.

I really love this one - it was supposed to be the back side of the following, but I think it is the new front side!

I do still like this, just not as much.

Who can resist this? I want to sit out here all day, every day.

For some reason this blanket edging is taking an inordinate amount of time.

Just one of Cinderella's mice.

Imagine me singing in a squeaky mouse voice "Hurry, hurry, hurry, hurry - gotta help our Cinderelly . . .

We found a dress for $16.99 at Ross and decided it would work for Cheerleader's 'Sweet Lolita' presentation at the Spanish 3 'Trade Show.' But, of course, it would only work after I had made some alterations to it. For starters, there was only one dress - a size 13 - so I had to take it in significantly. Then I added lace to the hemline; lace to the waistline; gathers and bows to the tulle overskirt; and a ribbon rose to the waist. I did have more photos - showing the back, how it laces up, but they've been lost somewhere in the bowels of the computer, never to be seen again.

". . . and we'll make a lovely dress for Cinderelly."
